Annie Boothroyd is a recent graduate from the Glasgow School of Art specialising in analogue photography. Her photographs work as an ongoing narrative, searching for something beyond the mere representations of place – to be looking for what defines it, how we understand the places which we inhabit, their capacity to reflect our human disposition and therefore searching for a deeper topography.
Boothroyd examines her environment, reflecting on its ability to appear otherworldly when seen through a gaze that is attracted to the absurd. Interested in the spaces that we traverse and navigate without thinking, she has the ability pause and recognise microcosms of uninterrupted existence.
